    Disclaimer: I'm not an expert.

I think you should go ahead and do the test because:

    • The kind of test you did might over-or-underestimate your FTP. Doing the test join suggests will probably make sure the training stimulus from the workouts is appropriate.
    • The Join app will calculate the stimulus from the FTP test so you're not tired for your next workout so it won't "ruin" your schedule i think.
    • Doing an FTP test is riding at and above threshold which in itself is a good workout.

    What goal did you set?

    Hi Tycho,

    Thank you for your reaction.

In the end, I didn't do the test. The FTP test the Join app suggested was similar to the test I did (via Zwift). I don't think there was any over- or underestimation of my FTP.

The goal I set was improving my FTP in 3 months. So far it goes well. The app isn't asking for the condition test anymore, only the first 2 or 3 days.

I feel I'm improving quite fast and can't wait for the suffering during the next condition test :)

    Thank you anyway!

Alright cool! I've set the exact same goal, so far so good! Very interested to see the results in a few weeks time! Good luck!
