Bursts/Vo2max intensity
Hello,
In some trainingdays bursts or short Vo2max efforts can be found. They both indicate 10 RPE. However, the wattages differ. It says for example 386-Max for bursts and Vo2max effort 293-Max.
My question is, do I have to aim for the lower wattage (so 386 for bursts and 293 for Vo2max effort) or do I have to go all out and try to put everything in it I have?

Hey Wester
If your suggested train says 386-Max or 293-Max then you have to go full gas and give everything you have. If it says 'Max', this is an indication that you have to go full gas for the duration of intervals. The RPE will be similar because it is a full-out effort for either 1min, 2 min, or 5min. RPE of 10 is an indication of how long the ride was, it was a maximum effort.
Here you can find more information regarding reporting of RPE - https://help.join.cc/hc/en-150/articles/4402442980497-How-do-I-determine-my-RPE-Kind regards
